A Different Kind of Ranking

India's most active pre-seed and seed managers cannot be ranked the same way as their US counterparts. AngelLinx Intelligence's US ranking uses dollars filed with US regulators in a specific week, a real-time signal that does not exist for India-based funds, which are not required to make comparable weekly disclosures. This list instead ranks by the two most defensible public signals available: total fund size, which indicates how much dry powder a manager has to deploy over the life of a fund, and recent check-writing pace, which indicates how actively that capital is actually moving. Every firm's stage focus and check size was verified individually rather than assumed from fund size alone, consistent with how AngelLinx verifies every investor profile before publishing it.

What the Spread Tells You

The seven names split into three real models. Stellaris, Blume and Prime Venture Partners are traditional institutional funds writing checks from $500K to $5M, sized to lead a proper seed round and follow on into Series A. Stellaris is the most sector-concentrated of the three right now, actively steering $100M-$150M of its newest fund specifically into AI, which makes it a sharper fit for an AI-native founder than a generalist SaaS company. Antler India and Titan Capital sit closer to true first-check territory, both under $800K per check, with Titan Capital in particular investing personal capital from its founder-operators rather than institutional LP money, a structure that tends to move faster and take more founder-friendly terms; Antler India runs a structured pre-seed platform for founders who already have a team in place rather than an open-ended application process. We Founder Circle and 100X.VC are structurally different again: an angel syndicate network and a cohort-based accelerator-style fund respectively, both optimized for volume and speed over check size, which is exactly why We Founder Circle's 53 new investments in twelve months is the highest deal count on this list despite not being the largest fund. 100X.VC's fixed $150K iSAFE note removes negotiation entirely, trading a smaller check for speed and a standardized 6-week onboarding process in Mumbai.

What This Means for Founders

A founder in India raising a first round now has a genuinely different playbook depending on where they are. A team with a working product looking to lead a $2M-$4M seed round should target Stellaris, Blume or Prime Venture Partners directly, and an AI-native team specifically should lead with Stellaris given its currently stated AI allocation. A first-time founder still validating the idea, wanting a fast, founder-friendly first check under $1M, is better served starting with Titan Capital, Antler India or 100X.VC's cohort program, all of which are explicitly built around being a company's very first institutional money rather than a lead investor for an already-forming round. We Founder Circle's angel network model is worth approaching specifically when a founder wants a syndicate of individual operators and angels rather than a single institutional lead, and can move in parallel with an institutional process rather than instead of one. As with the US list, fund size and stated check range are a starting filter, not a guarantee, since every fund also weighs sector fit, team background and traction before writing a check regardless of where it sits on this ranking.
