Singh law academy
Summary
Singh Law Academy is India's first NLU-backed legal EdTech institution, built to bridge the massive quality and affordability gap in Indian legal education. While 85% of India’s 20 Lakh+ law students lack access to practical training and quality faculty, existing players sell expensive, one-time coaching courses to the top 15%. We solve this by offering a 360-degree ecosystem—combining semester academics, real district-court litigation training, and career mentorship—starting at just ₹999/year. Backed by a 5-year collaboration with CNLU Patna and led by Dr. Faizan Mustafa, we are building a scalable, bilingual platform that supports students through their entire 3-5 year journey.

The Business
The Business
Singh Law Academy is building India's first NLU-backed integrated legal learning ecosystem. We are solving the massive quality and affordability gap in Indian legal education by serving the 80-85% of law students who are currently ignored by high-ticket coaching players.
Our Products:
We offer three integrated products delivered through a mobile-first, AI-enabled platform:
Semester Academic Library: Bilingual (Hindi/English) video lectures and notes for 50+ subjects.
Practical Litigation Training: Skill-based modules built on real District Court cases.
Mentorship & Career Guidance: Continuous career support and live sessions.
Business Model:
We operate a tiered subscription model (Foundation at ₹999/year, up to Complete Journey at ₹5,999/year). Students subscribe early and naturally upgrade as their syllabus and career needs evolve over their 3-5 year LL.B. journey, driving high lifetime value (LTV) and low churn.
Institutional Moat:
Our biggest differentiator is our 5-year strategic academic collaboration with Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna, under the leadership of Dr. Faizan Mustafa. This makes us the only legal EdTech platform with direct NLU-backed academic credibility.
Traction & Scale:
We have a functioning prototype with 11,000+ organic downloads across 20+ states. We are raising ₹5 Crore to scale our content, technology, and marketing to reach 50,000+ paying students in Year 1.
The Market
The Market
India’s legal education system represents one of the country’s largest underserved professional education markets — large in scale, structurally fragmented, and still overwhelmingly offline or self-directed.
Market Size (TAM / SAM / SOM):
TAM (20 Lakh+ Users): India has 2,000+ law colleges with 15 Lakh+ active LL.B. students, plus 5 Lakh+ young advocates (0–5 years practice). With 1.5–2 Lakh new students entering annually, this is a massive, recurring market.
SAM (₹6–12 Crore Annually): Even at a conservative 3% penetration (~60,000 students) with a blended ARPU of ₹1,000–₹2,000/year, the immediate serviceable opportunity is ₹6–12 Crore annually—before institutional bulk channels or the young advocate segment.
SOM (₹5 Crore Year 1 Target): In Year 1, we target 50,000 paying students at an average revenue of ₹1,000, generating ₹5 Crore. This scales to ₹120 Crore by Year 5 as our student base hits 6 Lakh+.
Why This Market Matters:
The 85% Gap: Only 15–20% of students at top NLUs get structured academics and mentorship. The remaining 80–85% are left to fend for themselves in an under-resourced system.
Affordability Crisis: Premium coaching Avg. costs from ₹30,000–₹3,37,000, which is completely out of reach for the majority. Our platform starts at just ₹999/year.
Digital Shift: Rising smartphone penetration in Tier-2/3 India and the formalisation of the BCI Bar Exam framework make digital legal education more viable now than ever before.
Objective/Future (Use of funds)
We are raising ₹5 Crore to scale our operations from prototype to a full pan-India commercial launch. Our allocation reflects our asset-light model and commitment to building high-quality, NLU-backed academic content:
50% Content Production (₹2.5 Cr): Scaling our proprietary library to 1,500+ hours of academic and litigation content in Hindi, English, and regional languages, co-developed with CNLU.
25% Team & Operations (₹1.25 Cr): Expanding our core team with key hires in the Patna studio, mentor-network operations, institutional partnerships, and sales.
15% Marketing & Partnerships (₹75 Lakh): Driving national student acquisition through 200+ college partnerships, our referral programme, and vernacular digital marketing to reach 50,000+ students.
10% Technology (₹50 Lakh): Enhancing our AI features (multi-language translation, AI mentor), upgrading the CMS/LMS, and scaling app infrastructure for national traffic.
