Zaperon Raises Rs 7 Crore to Secure Both Human and AI Agent Identities
Every employee has a login, and increasingly so does every software agent a company deploys. Securing the second group is a problem most security stacks were not built for, and Delhi-based Zaperon has raised money to address it.
Zaperon, a cybersecurity startup, raised Rs 7 crore (about $830,000) in a seed round led by Inflection Point Ventures. The company was founded in 2021 by Vineet Gupta and Sachin Aggarwal and is building a unified cybersecurity platform for what it calls the agentic AI era. The funds will go toward advancing the product, launching enterprise-grade AI security frameworks and expanding its presence in India and the United States.
What the Platform Covers
The platform is designed to secure both human and non-human identities while controlling data access, converging identity security, data security and AI governance into a single solution. Non-human identities include service accounts, application programming interface keys and, increasingly, autonomous software agents that act on behalf of employees. Each of those can hold permissions and reach sensitive data, and traditional identity tools were designed around people logging in, not agents running continuously.
Why Convergence Is the Pitch
Large companies typically buy separate tools for identity, data protection and AI oversight, and each adds cost and integration work. A platform that combines them promises a single view of who or what can access which data, and a single place to enforce policy. The risk for a young company is that converged platforms must be good at several things at once, and buyers will compare each module against a specialist. A seed round of this size gives Zaperon time to prove that its combined approach is more than the sum of its parts.
What This Means for Founders
For founders building security products, Zaperon's pitch shows that a new category can emerge when the thing being protected changes, here from people to agents. Early-stage founders should note the stage of this round: a seed raise led by an investor network such as Inflection Point Ventures, which is built around angel investors, is a common route for Indian enterprise software startups before a larger institutional round. If you are raising a similar seed round, expect investors to ask how you will win against established vendors, so have a clear answer on a specific buyer and use case. Backing from angel investors can also bring early customer introductions, which matters more than the check in a category that depends on enterprise trust.
