Wispr Flow Raises USD 280M Series B at USD 2B Valuation to Build the Voice Layer Beneath Every App

Wispr Flow, an AI voice dictation company, raised USD 280 million in Series B financing at a USD 2 billion valuation, led by Menlo Ventures. The round brings Wispr's total funding to USD 361 million and closed less than ten months after its last raise. Other new investors include Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater, Peak XV, Together Fund, and PLUS Capital, alongside returning backers Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures, 8VC, and MVP Ventures. Athletes Shaun White, Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, Klay Thompson, and Paul George also joined the round.

The Technology

Wispr Flow started as an AI-native voice dictation product competing in the speech-to-text layer beneath productivity applications. The company has now built Canto, a new speech model that reduces error rates from 30% to under 10%, a step change in accuracy that makes voice dictation genuinely reliable for professional use. The capital will fund Canto's continued development and Wispr's expansion into meeting transcription, where it will compete directly with Granola, Fireflies, and Read AI.

Beyond the Keyboard

Wispr has begun partnering with hardware manufacturers, including Oasis, whose smart ring allows users to dictate without speaking aloud, extending the Wispr platform from keyboard replacement to ambient computing input layer. If successful, this positions Wispr not as a productivity add-on but as the default input mechanism for a post-keyboard AI native computing experience.

What This Means for Founders

Wispr's valuation at USD 2 billion on USD 361 million in total funding reflects the market's conviction that voice is the next primary input modality for professional workflows. Founders building in productivity, enterprise software, ambient computing, or hardware-software integration should note how quickly the voice AI category has capitalised: Wispr moved from early product to USD 2 billion valuation in under three years.
