CtrlS Raises INR 250 Crore from Nikhil Kamath and Sreeram Vanga to Scale India Data Centre Capacity

CtrlS Datacenters, one of India's largest data centre operators, raised INR 250 crore in a round anchored by Nikhil Kamath, co-founder of Zerodha, who contributed INR 200 crore, and entrepreneur Sreeram Reddy Vanga, who contributed INR 50 crore. The raise follows a INR 7,000 crore institutional round from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) closed in June 2026 at a valuation of USD 4.7 billion.

What CtrlS Builds

Founded in 2007 in Hyderabad by Sridhar Pinnapureddy, CtrlS operates 19 data centres across nine key markets in India. The company has over 370 megawatts of live capacity and a pipeline of 4.4 gigawatts in various stages of execution. CtrlS serves enterprise clients, hyperscalers, and cloud operators requiring colocation and managed infrastructure in Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities.

Why Entrepreneur Capital on Top of Institutional

The CPP Investments round provided institutional validation at scale. The Kamath and Vanga round is a different signal: two high-profile Indian entrepreneurs putting personal capital into a data infrastructure business signals conviction in domestic digital infrastructure as a long-duration asset class.
