Creem Raises €5 Million in Tallinn to Build Billing Infrastructure for AI-Native Software
Tallinn-based fintech startup Creem raised €5 million in Seed funding led by Inovo VC, with existing investors Practica Capital and Antler participating alongside angel investors including Bolt founder Markus Villig and founders and executives from Ready Player Me, Voi and Viktor.com. The round brings Creem's total funding to approximately €6.8 million.
Creem handles billing, payments, tax, affiliate management, revenue splits and pricing for software companies, with its latest product direction aimed specifically at smaller AI-native teams whose products often use consumption-based, outcome-based or other pricing models that do not fit cleanly into traditional subscription billing infrastructure built for a previous generation of SaaS.
The more distinctive part of Creem's pitch is not the billing product itself but how customers are meant to reach it. Rather than asking customers to adopt a Creem-branded agent or dashboard, its infrastructure is built to be reached through APIs, command-line interfaces and the Model Context Protocol, allowing a customer's own AI agents to manage stores and financial operations directly. That positioning anticipates a near-term future where AI agents increasingly purchase software or complete business transactions on behalf of people and companies, a shift that still requires deterministic, auditable rules around tax, permissions, payouts and accounting even when the buyer or operator on the other end of a transaction is a machine rather than a person.
Creem says annual recurring revenue has passed €2 million with a team of roughly 15 people, commercial traction that is unusually strong for a Seed-stage company building agent-facing financial infrastructure, a category where many competitors are still pre-revenue.
The raise is a useful marker of where fintech infrastructure investing is heading as AI-native software companies scale: not necessarily toward new consumer payment products, but toward the deterministic financial rails, billing, tax, revenue splits and permissions, that both human and AI-driven software businesses will need regardless of how their front-end products evolve.
The angel roster behind Creem's round is also notable for a Seed-stage fintech company. Bolt founder Markus Villig, alongside founders and executives from Ready Player Me, Voi and Viktor.com, gives Creem direct access to operators who have already scaled consumer and B2B products through the exact kind of unconventional, high-volume billing and payments challenges Creem is now trying to solve for its own AI-native customer base. For a small Baltic fintech infrastructure company competing for attention against larger, better-capitalized billing platforms, that operator network may prove as valuable as the capital itself in landing the next tier of AI-native software customers.
