The Most Active Pre-Seed and Seed-Stage Investors in Europe, Q3 2026

The Ranked List

  1. Seedcamp (London) - $1B assets under management, $320M raised across Fund VII and its Select growth vehicle. First checks around $1M, pre-seed through seed, sector-agnostic with a tilt toward AI and deep science.
  2. Cherry Ventures (Berlin) - $500M Fund V. Pre-seed and seed checks of EUR 1M-5M, operator-led investing style.
  3. Speedinvest (Vienna) - EUR 350M Fund 4, Austria's largest venture firm. Checks of EUR 500K-3M, also runs a dedicated $230M Africa fund.
  4. Point Nine Capital (Berlin) - 210 portfolio companies including 11 unicorns such as Zendesk and Delivery Hero. Checks of EUR 0.5M-3M, concentrated in SaaS, AI and B2B software.
  5. LocalGlobe (London) - Checks of GBP 250K-2M across pre-seed and seed, backer of Wise and Zoopla, known for leading larger seed rounds than most UK peers.
  6. Kima Ventures (Paris) - Standardized EUR 150K tickets, 2-3 new investments every week, the highest deal velocity of any fund on this list by a wide margin.

A Different Kind of Ranking

Like the India ranking, this list cannot use the weekly filing-dollar methodology built for US funds, since European pre-seed and seed managers are not subject to the same disclosure regime. Ranking instead runs on fund scale and deal pace, verified individually per firm rather than inferred from headlines. It is worth being direct about what that means for comparability: Seedcamp's $1B AUM and Kima Ventures' EUR 150K flat ticket size are not the same kind of number, and a firm ranked lower here is not necessarily a weaker choice for a specific founder, only a smaller or more selective one by this particular measure.

What the Spread Tells You

Europe's list splits cleanly by check-writing style rather than geography, since four of the six sit within 90 minutes of each other's home markets. Seedcamp and Cherry Ventures write the largest first checks and the largest funds, positioned to lead a round and carry meaningful reserves for follow-on; Seedcamp's new Select vehicle specifically exists to keep backing its own winners into later rounds rather than handing that upside to a new investor. Speedinvest and Point Nine Capital sit in the middle, both sector-focused, Point Nine concentrated tightly on SaaS, AI and B2B software specifically, which is worth knowing before pitching them outside that lane, while Speedinvest's newer $230M Africa-dedicated fund shows a firm actively expanding its geographic mandate rather than staying purely DACH-focused. LocalGlobe and Kima Ventures anchor the volume end: LocalGlobe by writing unusually large seed checks for a UK fund relative to peers at the same stage, and Kima Ventures by running a genuinely different model entirely, one fixed ticket size, two to three new companies every week, optimized for reach rather than concentration.

What This Means for Founders

A European founder's target list here should be set by check size fit first, sector fit second. A team raising a EUR 2M-5M seed round with a co-lead already interested should go straight to Cherry Ventures or Seedcamp. A SaaS or AI-specific B2B company raising a smaller round has a genuine sector specialist in Point Nine Capital rather than a generalist spreading attention across categories, while a fintech-adjacent founder in Austria or the wider DACH region should treat Speedinvest as the default first call given its local scale and now-broader mandate. A very early, pre-product team wanting fast capital and low friction should consider Kima Ventures' standardized process, where speed and volume replace the longer diligence cycle a larger fund runs, or LocalGlobe if the round is closer to GBP 1M-2M and a UK base fits the thesis. As with the US and India lists, treat fund size and check range as a starting filter rather than a guarantee, since sector fit and team background still decide the outcome of any individual pitch.
