How to Get Funded by Team8: Cyber and AI Startups
Team8 filed two new vehicles on October 7, 2026: Team8 Follow-On Fund, L.P. reporting $166.5 million, and Team8 Co-Invest, L.P. reporting $79.8 million. Roy Heldshtein signed both. For founders in cybersecurity, enterprise software and AI, the filings show a firm with fresh money to back its existing companies in later rounds.
What the Filings Do and Do Not Show
The filings give amounts and a signer but not a purpose. Team8 announced $365 million of new capital in August 2026, made up of $265 million for its third fund and more than $100 million for follow-on investments, bringing its assets under management to nearly $2 billion across eight funds launched since 2014. The follow-on filing is larger than the $100 million figure in that announcement, and the filing does not explain the difference, so this article treats the filing amounts as reported figures and not as a final fund size.
Roy Heldshtein is listed in profiles as Managing Partner, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Team8, and earlier served as Check Point's vice president of finance. He is the signer here, which does not by itself make him the lead investor on the vehicles.
Who Runs the Investing
According to coverage of the August announcement, the third fund is managed by Sarit Firon and Liran Grinberg, with Ori Barzilay and Hadar Siterman Norris as partners. Team8 is known for building companies with its founders and a network of large corporate partners. Its 2026 raise reportedly included an early exit when Palo Alto Networks was reported to be acquiring Koi Security, a Team8-backed cybersecurity company.
What Founders Should Take From It
Follow-on and co-invest vehicles exist to back companies the firm already holds. If you are not yet in the portfolio, the most direct route is to be a company Team8 would want to start with, which usually means a technical team in cybersecurity, data or AI infrastructure with a clear enterprise buyer.
If you are already a portfolio company, these vehicles matter for your next round. Ask the partner on your board how much follow-on capital is reserved, since that affects how a lead investor will judge your Series A and what pro-rata support to expect.
For a first approach, show how your product reaches a security or technology buyer and what a customer pays. Team8 describes its model as working closely with founders on go-to-market, so it helps to explain where you would use that help.
